What Should You Pack Into a Roadside Emergency Kit?
- Snacks and bottled water: In case you’re stuck for a while, it’s important to stay hydrated. Make sure to also keep quick and easy non-perishable foods like granola bars.
- Blankets: Even though the sun is shining, it can cool off significantly at night
- Phone charger: If you can turn on your car’s battery you can still keep your phone alive.
- First Aid Kit: This one is pretty self-explanatory.
- Sunblock: If you are stranded in the hot sun, you want to make sure to keep your skin protected.
- Jumper cables: Perhaps these jumper cables can keep you from being stranded in the first place.
- Emergency contact information: If you are a member of AAA or another service that offers free towing or other services, make sure the information is readily available when you need it.
- Extra oil, coolant: Keep these both on hand if the weather is especially hot to prevent engine overheating.
